Viewty is back and better than ever, with new smart camera applications that take care of all the complicated camera adjustments and processing for you. “Viewty Smart represents the next generation of LG camera phones, and will drive LG leadership in the industry with its innovative, smart technology.

Intelligent Shot Mode and Advanced Camera Features

LG conducted consumer preference surveys in fourteen countries including the U.S., U.K., France, Brazil, Russia, India and China to learn what consumers wanted to see in the next generation mobile device and one key finding was that users thought current camera phones were too complicated to operate.

Some of the key features in LG's Viewty Smart include the following:

• 8 megapixel camera with maximum ISO 1600. The camera will also feature Multi-Face Detection and DVD-quality D1 video recording. Other mini features includes such as Touch Shot, Art Shot, Beauty Shot, Panorama Shot and Continuous Shot. The camera's flash will be using a LED flash.
• 3 inch WVGA touch screen at 800x480 pixels, an additive plus with such a good resolution for viewing of movies and pictures
• S-class user interface - a on-screen dial that you can tap and rotate clockwise or anticlockwise for camera functions. (much like a real camera but as for response, we will have to wait to see how responsive it is in reality)
• Viewty Smart will come with 1.5 GB of internal memory and supports external storage using MicroSD cards up to 32 GB.
• Other features include HSDPA network and Wi-Fi compatibility are also found in this phone.

It's a nice looking phone with some very promising features, but LG really need to simplify their range. After all, Apple has created a significant market share with just one iPhone model on the market at any one time. Perhaps LG would be wise to do the same when it comes to high-end touchscreen phones.

Don’t go on her name as Viewty Smart name is a bit misleading. The Viewty 2 is a smart handset indeed but only design-wise. From the inside, it's not a smartphone or anything, as its not WinMo or Symbian Phone, no matter how much we would have liked that. Instead it's a regular full touch feature phone, but one with a really polished UI and top-notch imaging capabilities.
